Tubecon is thrilled to announce our appointment by Taylor Woodrow as the steel fabricator for the Meridian Water Bridge, as part of a larger regeneration project.

Meridian Water Regeneration Promotes Wellness for Residents in Enfield Tubecon

This project is a key element of the ambitious £6 billion Meridian Water regeneration initiative in Enfield, North London. Over the next two decades, it aims to create 10,000 new homes and generate hundreds of permanent jobs for local residents. Central to this vision is a commitment to sustainability, enhancing the local environment and promoting community wellness.

The end goal is to transform this area into a vibrant part of London where wide-reaching transport links, and high-speed internet connections, in a picturesque riverside setting will attract major employers and support emerging start-ups. This environment will offer high-skilled employment opportunities across diverse industries, ensuring that residents can thrive and contribute to the community’s growth.

Located adjacent to the picturesque Lee Valley Regional Park, the Meridian Water development is being designed with nature and biodiversity in mind. The area boasts a variety of waterways and marshlands which will provide a green oasis within walking distance for residents.

Tubecon have extensive experience with delivering complex steel structures and our team will be installing a new vehicle bridge which spans the River Lea canal. The beams for the bridge are being manufactured from weathering steel to resist corrosion, as it will be exposed to the elements, and to minimise the level of maintenance. The two outer bays will feature a decorative fascia, enhancing the bridge’s aesthetic appeal. We are delighted to have a part in such an interesting regeneration project that will transform this part of Enfield.

David Perry expressed our excitement about this project, stating, “We are thrilled to have been awarded this fantastic contract and are eager to collaborate on such an impactful initiative.”

Being part of the Meridian Water project aligns with Tubecon’s mission of creating structures that support and enhance community life while building a sustainable environment. We’re excited to contribute to a project that not only serves a functional purpose but also enriches the local community and its surroundings.
