Bevis Marks Roof Garden
A challenging and exciting tubular steelwork project which was delivered efficiently and utilised new innovative technologies.
Billington Structures/Tubecon were tasked with fabricating an intricate steelwork frame to stand at the top of the new Bevis Marks office building. The structure covers a superb roof garden for use by the office occupants in the heart of London, right beside the impressive Gherkin building.
Impressively, Billington Structures/Tubecon trial-erected each of the four phases of the structure independently prior to dispatching the steel to site. This process was carried out at our large fabrication facility based in Bristol by a team of highly skilled erectors. By trial erecting the structure, it gave the design team a taster opportunity of this impressive piece of architectural and engineering splendour and also allowed the complex erection methodology to be put into practice.
After such a challenging project and fantastic team effort, we are proud to have produced this structure which stands in such a recognisable and distinctive part of the country.
