The design, manufacture and installation of steel bridges forms a major portion of our output with many different structural types being provided across wide ranging infrastructure environments including road, rail, and waterways. All bridge types and styles are catered for, from the more Complex Tubular and Plate Formed structures, Tied Arch and Cable Stayed structures, Vierendeel /Warren Truss structures, Plate Girder and Braced Beams we also provide Moving and Lifting Bridge Structures.
In addition to steel, we also utilise other materials such as Structural Timber, Glass, Tensile Fabric, ETFE, and GRP. In addition to these interfacing materials, we offer functional and decorative lighting schemes that complement the bridge structures we deliver.
Tubecon actively encourages Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), we engage with design and development of projects assisting our clients design team, we also offer a full design and build service from project conception through to site installation. All our projects are modelled and drawn using Tekla software, which enables us to create bridges that utilise complex geometric shapes and forms.
Fabrication of all steel bridges takes place at our purpose-built facility using the latest modern equipment. Our specialist workshop offers the space required to set out large fabrications, allowing trial assembly during fabrication of complex steel structures, this not only ensures we meet the most the stringent specification tolerances, but ensures that all fabrications are set out and aligned perfectly, it not only gives a higher quality of structure, but also reduces the risk of any assembly issues occurring during installation.
Installation of large bridge structures typically involve mobile cranes with a significant portion of fabrication taking place off site. However, where a bridge structure is too large to transport in one piece, we strategically split them into transportable sections then assemble them on site. In the past we have worked on projects such as Watermark Westquay, where the bridge was delivered to site in 2 pieces lifted into its installed location before being welded together.
