As part of its commitment to social value and giving back to the community, Tubecon is involved with a number of local sports clubs.
Worksop Town Ladies Football Club was founded in 2015 and since then they have gone from strength to strength, progressing from the Sheffield & Hallamshire Women & Girls League, Division Two to the East Midlands Regional Women’s League, Division One North. Tubecon is sponsoring the Home Kit for the club and we can’t wait to see how the team performs during the 2024-2025 season.
Frickley Athletic Football Club in West Yorkshire was founded in 1908 and it was created to give miners at Frickley colliery a recreational outlet. With nearly 120 years of history, the club is a member of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division and they play at Westfield Lane.
In 2018 the Frickley Athletic Community Foundation was established to bring South Elmsall, South Kirkby and Upton communities together with a variety of activity. The club also works with many local schools offering different sports depending on their requirements, as well as football camps, and a number of girls only football related activities, such as the Wildcats programme. This is supported by the Football Association and offers local girls aged 5 to 11 the chance to receive football coaching in a supportive and fun environment.
Given everything that Frickley Athletic does to encourage physical activity for young people, as well as nurturing younger players and getting them interested in football, Tubecon is proud to sponsor Frickley Athletic Under 9 Boys team.
The Chesterfield Cricket Club is a member of the Derbyshire County Cricket League with a long history that goes back to the 19th century. It has a youth development policy and currently there are 1,200 young people involved within coaching courses at the club. Its policy is a proud part of its history and they hope that many more of its young players will follow in the footsteps of former club players who have gone on to play for England. Tubecon is honoured to be supporting the club through sponsorship of its junior squad.
By supporting Worksop Town Ladies Football Club, Frickley Athletic Football Club and Chesterfield Cricket Club, Tubecon is helping to deliver real value to local communities by nurturing athletic potential and providing more sporting opportunities for everyone in the area.
